Unemployment

Well, it finally happened. DH has joined the ever increasing ranks of the unemployed. We knew there was a strong likelihood of it, his company, like so many other these days, are struggling to stay afloat. However, we had hoped that this economic crisis we are all in would start to turn around. We had hoped that we could just hang in there...

Actually, hubby, although worried about the future, was a bit relieved when he received the news. The whole uncertainty of whether or not he was going to have a job as things got worse and worse was putting him under a tremendous amount of stress. His blood pressure was elevated, and he's had trouble sleeping.

I am tending to believe, like my brother does, that it's going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better. I'm sure anyone reading this has family members, neighbors, or acquaintances who have recently joined the ranks of the unemployed. My sister has been unemployed for over a year, and actually had to go back to school to pursue a career change, (she was in the banking industry and was laid off during a reorganization). Praise the Lord she was offered a job in her new field this past week!

All we can do is put our trust in the Lord and believe that everything is going to work out for the best. My heart goes out to so many others who are finding themselves in this position.

'Til next time,

Mary

Mary I am so sorry your Husband lost his Job. I can understand his relief from the uncertainty as well. I can't imagine that there isn't someone out there that hasn't been touched by this definite time of hardship for so many. My BIL Lost his job today. And now they are relying on my Sis's job. They are also trusting in the Lord. It seems God just may be benenfitting in this whole down turn..Peoples Eyes are sure turning back to him. Praise God for that. You both will be in our Prayers. For he has said "I will Never leave you Nor forsak you" Hebrews 13:5

I'm so so sorry to hear this Mary. I don't think there isn't anyone out there that isn't affected by the economy/loss of jobs, etc... or at least know someone who is. My brother lost his job at the end of last year after 31 years with the same company! Needless to say, he's still in shock about it.

My prayers to you and yours sweetie!

OMG, Debbie, I can surely understand how your brother must be feeling. This is such a stressful experience. I hope he is getting closer to getting settled somewhere new. I will be praying for him!

I am so scared that we are going to end up losing our home and living in a trailer park. Whatever God brings us, I will be okay, as long as my hubby and I are healthy and together.

As far as continuing health insurance without any lapse for pre-existing conditions, make sure your brother knows that the employer is responsible to subsidize 65% of the cost and get reimbursement from the government ~ it's a new plan that just came out February 17th.

Hugs,

Mary

Oh Mary, my heart goes out to you. I do believe as Sara said, God has a plan in all this chaos. Over 4,400,000 citizens lost their jobs within the last year, there is more going on in this world right now than meets the eye.

Sara I'm so sorry about your BIL too, it's hard to find the right words to say with this type of devastation happening all around us.

I am so sorry to read this. We're in such a scary time right now, it's hard to actually comprehend. I'm praying that something else better comes along and you'll be back in some sort of comfort zone.

You are in my prayers!
