No, not the mums. For some reason, mums don't do too well here in the south. After you've enjoyed them for a lovely seasonal display, you can plant them in the ground. However, the following summer they grow really leggy. I guess cutting them back at an optimum predetermined date might get you a good show the following season, but I've never been able to figure that out.
No, it's the olde blue wooden ice cream bucket I chose to put these in for the front porch. It's a "Maid of Honor" old, hand crank job for making homemade ice cream. I haven't been able to determine the era this is from, although I spotted a few on eBay recently. Love that blue color!
